SURREY’s Thorpe Park has today become the first theme park in the world to open its doors to dogs.
Following “extensive requests” from owners, the resort’s bosses said it will now be offering an annual event named “Bring your dogs to Thorpe Bark”, for canine thrill-seekers to enjoy all the thrills and spills of the attraction.
Five of the UK’s most daring dogs were invited to trial the park and were reportedly particularly taken with the Flying Fish rollercoaster.
A spokeswoman for the attraction said: “After constant requests from owners, we have decided to finally open the Park to Dogs so they too can enjoy the thrilling rides. We’ve tested each ride extensively with our volunteers, and apart from a few nervous barks on Stealth, our guests rated it five woofs out of five.”
The Thorpe Bark event will also be offering a five-star kennel service next to the next Thorpe Shark Hotel to allow doggy daredevils to relax at the end of a long day of rollercoaster-riding.
Four-legged friends will be able to enjoy all the same amenities of the park as their human friends and owners, and snacks and drinks will be provided to keep them hydrated throughout the day.
